Ethical Commercialisation Charter

Ten commitments that define what IPMeld is — and what it is not.

IPMeld is a technology assembly, validation and licensing platform. These are the standards we hold ourselves to in acquiring, coordinating and licensing intellectual property.

These commitments describe how IPMeld intends to operate. They are published so that inventors, institutions and companies can hold us to a stated standard, and so that the difference between technology commercialisation and patent assertion is unambiguous.

01

We do not acquire rights solely to threaten operating businesses

Rights are acquired or coordinated to enable commercialisation. Acquiring intellectual property for the purpose of extracting settlements from operating companies is outside our purpose.

02

We prioritise genuine commercialisation and collaboration

Our objective is deployment: a licence that leads to a product, a pilot that leads to adoption, or a manufacturing relationship that leads to production.

03

We require ownership and contributor verification

A technology does not progress to licensing until every contributor is identified and the ownership position is documented.

04

We promote transparent inventor compensation

Proposed contribution and participation are recorded in writing and shared with the people concerned before agreements are executed.

05

We support good-faith licensing before considering enforcement

Where a third party appears to use protected technology, our first step is a commercial conversation on reasonable terms.

06

We do not conceal the beneficial ownership of controlled rights

Where IPMeld controls or coordinates rights, the beneficial ownership position is disclosable to counterparties.

07

We assess cross-licensing arrangements for competition-law risk

Pooling and cross-licensing can raise competition-law issues. Arrangements are reviewed before they are put in place, and adjusted where risk is identified.

08

We respect academic research rights where contractually agreed

Research, teaching and publication rights reserved by institutions and funders are respected as agreed, including agreed publication timing.

09

We use litigation only as a last resort to protect legitimate rights

Legal proceedings are a defensive measure of final resort, not a commercial strategy.

10

We do not guarantee patentability, investment or commercial success

No assessment, introduction or statement by IPMeld is a guarantee of protection, funding, licensing or revenue.

Hold us to this.
