About IPMeld

The commercial assembly layer between invention and industry.

IPMeld identifies promising inventions, verifies ownership, assesses technical and commercial potential, combines complementary inventions through structured cross-licensing, supports validation, and presents industry with one commercially usable technology package.

Mission

To build the missing commercial assembly layer between global invention and industrial adoption.

Vision

A world in which useful inventions are judged by their potential, not lost because of geography, fragmented ownership or lack of commercial access.

Origin

Why IPMeld exists

The founder's interest in intellectual property and cross-licensing

IPMeld began from a straightforward observation: the barrier to commercialising early-stage technology is usually not the invention. It is incomplete engineering, unclear ownership, absent evidence and the fact that industry buys solutions rather than components.

Cross-licensing is a well-established answer to that fragmentation in mature industries. It is almost never applied to student, independent and early institutional inventions, where the fragmentation is worst. IPMeld exists to apply it there.

People and networks

Structure under development

The sections below are placeholders. IPMeld does not name advisers, reviewers or partners until appointments are confirmed in writing.

Advisory board — placeholder

Positions are being defined across intellectual property, university technology transfer, industrial engineering and competition law. No appointments are announced. Expressions of interest are welcome.

Technical-review network — placeholder

A register of independent sector specialists who assess technologies outside their own institution, with declared conflicts of interest. Recruitment is open; no reviewers are named.

Operating team — placeholder

Roles in assessment, ownership review, licensing and institutional partnerships are being scoped. Team members will be listed here only once appointed.

Legal and ethical principles

What we will and will not do

IPMeld is a technology assembly, validation and licensing platform. It is not a patent-listing website, a patent broker or a patent-assertion company.

  • We do not acquire rights solely to threaten operating businesses
  • We require ownership and contributor verification before licensing
  • We support good-faith licensing before considering enforcement
  • We assess cross-licensing arrangements for competition-law risk
  • We respect academic research rights where contractually agreed
  • We do not guarantee patentability, investment or commercial success

Global partnership model

Local institutions, one commercial standard

IPMeld is designed to operate through partnerships rather than offices: institutional agreements with universities and colleges, technical-review agreements with individual experts, manufacturing and development agreements with industrial partners, and licensing arrangements with corporate customers.

The intention is that a technology assessed in one country is documented to the same standard as one assessed anywhere else, so packages can be assembled across borders and institutions. Where local law, funder terms or institutional policy require a different approach, those requirements take precedence.
