IPMELD Institutional Partnership Overview One industrial problem. Many inventors. One commercial licence. IPMeld transforms disconnected inventions into validated, commercially usable technology portfolios. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- STATUS OF THIS DOCUMENT -------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a placeholder overview issued with the IPMeld website build. A designed partnership pack will replace it. Sections marked [placeholder] require verified information before external circulation. Version 1.0 draft — 2 September 2026 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. WHAT IPMELD IS -------------------------------------------------------------------------- IPMeld is a technology assembly, validation and licensing platform. It identifies related inventions held by different inventors and institutions, assesses them, and assembles them into coherent technology packages that an industrial partner can license through a single coordinated agreement. IPMeld is not a patent-listing website, patent broker or patent-assertion company. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. THE PROBLEM WE ADDRESS -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Individual inventions frequently solve only part of an industrial problem. A sensing method, a control approach, a material and a retrofit mechanism may each be sound on their own, yet none is commercially usable in isolation. Industry buys complete solutions, not fragments. The result is a large volume of technically credible research and independent invention that never reaches deployment. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. WHAT AN INSTITUTIONAL PARTNERSHIP INVOLVES -------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Innovation harvesting across faculties, doctoral portfolios and student project archives - Structured screening against real industrial demand - Ownership and contributor verification before any commercial step - Technical and commercial assessment by independent reviewers - Assembly of institution-linked technologies with complementary inventions from other sources - Coordinated licensing, with each underlying right remaining with its owner - Portfolio analytics and reporting for the technology transfer office -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. OWNERSHIP AND RIGHTS -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Submission to IPMeld does not transfer ownership of an invention. Institutional rights, employment terms, studentship conditions and funder obligations are established and recorded before a technology progresses towards licensing. Any assignment, option, licence or revenue-sharing arrangement requires a separately executed written agreement. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5. WHAT WE DO NOT PROMISE -------------------------------------------------------------------------- IPMeld does not guarantee that intellectual property protection will be available or granted, that a licensee will be found, that a transaction will complete, or that any revenue will arise. Assessment outcomes are opinions based on the evidence supplied. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6. TYPICAL ENGAGEMENT SEQUENCE -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Introductory discussion with the technology transfer or research office 2. Scoping of a pilot harvest programme in one faculty or theme 3. Data protection and confidentiality arrangements agreed in writing 4. Screening and shortlisting of candidate technologies 5. Ownership and contributor verification 6. Assessment and assembly against live industrial demand 7. Reporting, and licensing where a viable route is identified Indicative timescales, resourcing requirements and commercial terms: [placeholder — to be confirmed] -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7.
